From: hounddog23x@gmail.com              Maintaining A Healthy Lifestyle May Prevent Alzheimer's Disease, Study       HealthAug 22, 2015                             Alzheimer's disease is a neurological disorder in which the death of brain       cells result to memory loss and cognitive decline. This progressive mental       deterioration occurs most often during middle or old age, due to generalized       degeneration of the brain.         It is the most common cause of premature senility and a neurodegenerative       type of dementia which starts mild but progressively becomes worse.              Other factors that increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease would include low       education, obesity, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, narrowing of the       carotid artery in the neck, smoking and even frailty.              Although there has been no known cure for Alzheimer's disease since the death       of brain cells in the dementia cannot be halted or reversed, studies show that       it may be preventable by living a healthy lifestyle and avoiding the above       risk factors pointed        out in the new research.              Effective management of any conditions which may occur alongside with       Alzheimer's must be prioritized.              Alzheimer's disease poses a heavy burden to an increasing number of elderly       people and their families as well, hence, President Obama has signed the       National Alzheimer's Project Act into Law last January, 2011 to raise public       awareness and engage the        public in confronting the challenges that it poses to our public health.        Along with an aim to improve research into prevention and treatment, the goals       of the plan also include measures for present intervention like enhancing care       quality and efficiency        of patients and extending support for people with Alzheimer's disease and       their families.              Aside from living a healthy lifestyle, individuals would benefit from       addressing the related potentially modifiable risk factors of Alzheimer's       disease.                                    http://www.theweeklyobserver.com/a-healthy-lifestyle-may-prevent       alzheimers-disease/8177/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
