   Thats not going to happen, for one thing it is awash with nuclear   
   weapons and it is entirely possible that any such attack could   
   precipitate their use.   
      
   A second factor is that it is probably the most heavily protected base   
   in the world, take a look at the satellite photos. Finally the Turks   
   have made it clear they will not allow foreign warships to pass through   
   their waters.   
      
   Last but not least remember what happened in WW2 were the Germans needed   
   to use 230,000 men to take the city and 35,000 of them died in the process.
