|    Re: West African Ebola    |

From: rsw@therandymon.com              This is of particular interest to me since I was in Senegal at the time       of the ebola outbreak, and of course Senegal was technically one of the       impacted countries when some Guinean dumb ass got ebola and then hopped       on a bus to Senegal to see if he could get himself treatment. They       nailed him on the Senegalese side of the border, and while the       Senegalese authorities assured us they had everything under control,       history shows such pronouncements usually serve to cover up       incompetence. Nonetheless, ebola didn't spread.              I had ten years' exposure to malaria while in Africa too. The science       shows malarial mosquitos are the single strongest vector asserting       evolutionary pressure on /homo sapiens/ these days. That being infected       by malaria could protect you from ebola is intriguing. Getting malaria       sucks big time - imagine getting infected with malaria, and then having       some ebola victim cough on you and infect you with that, too. What's       left: getting struck by lightning on your way to the hospital, just       before your ambulance gets into a 4 car collision?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
