   I'd agree with you about the newer stuff.  I found this on Youtube,   
   provides every opening sequence of the series over the decades.  You   
   can really note the difference in the 1980s and beyond.

   The earliest versions are sublime: understated, and really evocative   
   somehow of time/space travel.  Good stuff.  How did I miss out on this?
