There are folks who have good coatings for both MgF and NaCl that work
amazingly well to keep moisture out (don't let them sit out in the rain,
nor get immersed in a flood). With normal care and handling they will
last for quite awhile. Don't know what the coatings are- they are
   proprietary, but they do work.
