   My hearing aids got stolen on a trip I made several years ago and I   
   should really replace them. With one in each ear I did get used to the   
   stereo effect but loud noises were almost unbearable.

   Don't worry. The effect goes away as you get used to it. And you are   
   going to *love* getting rid of those cataracts. My surgeons used inserted   
   lenses that made me slightly near-sighted (I had always been very near-   
   sighted) and now I don't need reading glasses.
