   Lawyers rely on billing in quarter-hour increments for 2-minute   
   unnecessary phone calls they make to ask if you received their documents,   
   etc.   
      
   A local office of one of the big-5 companies has signs on the wall   
   reminding staff not to bill for more than 24 hours in any day. The   
   reason? The accounting system has a fit! Nothing to do with it being   
   practically impossible to provide more than 24 hours service; in fact   
   some staff had been known to do it in under 8 hours. Bastards, the lot.
