   Interesting. Didn't know about that part. But it makes perfect   
   sense. I have a little 'security camera' that obviously does   
   not have this plate as when the image is 'perfectly' focused I   
   get all sorts of moire effects - typically blue/yellow fringes   
   on vertical edges.   
      
   Of course I'm going to go googling but in case I have trouble   
   finding the information, does anyone know of a website with a   
   good technical treatment of all these little details of digital   
   camera design?
