   As a third order effect it would introduce a gamma-factor of   
   3 in the image, so you probably would have to add a means to   
   (passively!) correct this after (or before) the conversion.

   It does work, but the gamma-factor makes the less bright parts   
   a bit difficult to see.. Just correct it, it will work fine! :-)
