|    cheap IR pass/visible blocking filter?    |

From: mathias@koerber.org              Hi.              I have a webcam with 'IR' mode, which also has 'IR' illuminating LEDs       for nightvision. However, those are still quite visible red. I would       like to block the visible portion to make them invisible.              Replacing the LEDs with real IR (I have a few TSHA5502 lying around)       ones might be possible, but if possible I'd like to avoid having to open       this device if possible...              I read some suggestions that unexposed/developed slide film makes for a       good filter, so I got one Fuji Velvia 100, but still does not markedly       affect the visible red spectrum.              Another suggestion was a few layers of Lee Congo Blue #181 and Primary       Red #106 filters, but that too does not block the visible portion.              Would anyone have any other suggestions? I would love to avoid paying       for really expensive filters...              any tips are appreciated..              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
