   And that's why I said XBasic isn't really a BASIC. When I   
   switched to it years ago I had quite a learning curve. I was   
   forced to change a lot of my programming habits from BASIC.   
   It's highly structured, strongly typed, can import most C   
   libraries. It compiles directly to assembly, and from what   
   I understand runs comparibly fast as C.   
      
   My understanding of the name "XBasic" is that it means   
   "ex-BASIC", as in "formerly known as BASIC", or "looks   
   like BASIC, but isn't."   
      
   So in that sense, it's a misleading name.   
      
   Other BASICS, real BASICS, just don't compare in my opinion.   
      
   Anyway, I'm not interested in a "best programming language"   
   debate. I was just curious about HPBasic being mentioned as   
   opposed to XBasic, being that Max Reason was mentioned and   
   knowing he wrote XBasic.
