|    spatial filtering - Airy pattern    |
|    12 Jul 13 05:34:31    |
Hi,              I try to filter out the laser beam through a spatial filter. I made a few       attempts. Every time I obtained a picture resembling Airy disk.       I have question connected with the output picture from the filter.       What picture should I get exactly at the output ?       Airego disk or image resembling the clean gaussian beam (without external       satellites)?       In my opinion satellites are always then when there is a diffraction.       Because the input beam always (theoretically) extends to the infinity, at the       output I will have always diffraction pattern (with satelites).       The satellites will have a different intensity, depending on the chosen filter       parameters.              Is this correct reasoning?       Thanks in advance,       Andriej              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
