|    Plasmat: An Inside-Out Double-Gauss?    |
|    22 Aug 13 17:36:02    |
From: jsavard@ecn.ab.ca              The double-gauss lens, used on so many fast lenses for still and movie       photography, is justly acclaimed for the control it gives over high-order       aberrations.              It seemed to me, though, that it ought to be easier to control astigmatism if       the design were changed.              Perhaps put the lenses that give the lens its power in the middle rather than       on the outside (as in the Plasmat); or make them into strongly-curved menisci       (like the Topogon).              John Savard              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
