The simmer circuit is interesting - I believe it must exist in the       "proportional" zone directly below the "Geiger" zone, voltage-wise. This comes       up a lot in ion chamber technology to detect particles.               But what I want to ask Phil is why he did use the "orange" led's - opting for       a white led and IF (intererence filter.) You must pardon me for curiosity, as       it's these "knife-edge" decisions which are interesting in engineering.               I'm going to suppose it was because the exact color of the eggs required a       critical knowledge of what's going on in this "warm" wavelength? Or were there       other factors? (You mentioned low output from the led's in this region, but I       see the "orange"        manufacturers bragging about brightness.)              If I am being too persistent, feel free to ignore the question. But as I said,       how the maestro does the surgery is a good study.              jb              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
