This is probably the wrong group to ask, but...

I was asked to find a replacement to an older 4" two-sided vanity mirror
that has broken. One side is a standard mirror, the other side is a magnified
mirror. I'm not sure of the magnification factor.

Well, I purchased (online) a 6" two-sided mirror. One side is standard, the
other side has a 10x magnification factor. That's the problem. On the 10x side,
if the image in the mirror is more than an inch or two away from the mirror, it
inverts and quickly loses focus. The old 4" mirror does not do this.

Is this a function of magnification factor? If so, what is the "magic number"?
5x? 3x? Is there some other factor causing this malady?

   Thanks.
