   Yeah the extent of my knowledge is there are different types of algae.   
   Red, yellow, this and that.   
   The green slime I know is blue green algae, (a bacteria).   
   The variety I sometimes get on my fishtank is dark green, slimey/ oily and   
    musty smelling.   
   I most admit knowing almost nothing about them bacteria are cool.   
   We get an orange slime in places on "our" waterfalls.   
   (maybe iron bacteria?)
