|    a photon's momentum    |

From: r_delaney2001@yahoo.com              In histories of the development of quantum mechanics,       they dwell on the question of the momentum carried by       a photon. Apparently this was a big deal. It goes like,       "Experiments determined that a photon carries kinetic       energy and momentum, confirming the predictions of the theory."              My question: is there any other possibility? I mean,       is it conceivable that light could deliver energy, but NOT       momentum? It seems logically and physically impossible.              I don't see the great significance of this discovery,       actually it strikes me as trivial.              --       Rich              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
