Hi all, I've had a question from a customer about an experiment we do with the       MZ       interferometer. We put a Rubidium cell in one arm and measure the phase shift       with       absorption. A write up here.       https://www.dropbox.com/s/lbqokhvbhup85ah/4-2%20DLS%20ResFaraday       ot%20Caltech09.pdf?dl=0       Done by guys at Caltech.       Anyway you can take the output from either side of the output beam-splitter.       The question: Is there anything to be learned from looking at both       complimentary outputs?       My response was not really, if you had a weak signal you could get a       bit more by subtracting the two outputs. But that's all I know of.              I told the customer I'd ask if there are any other uses.       Are there?              Thanks,       George H.              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
