|    phase filter?    |

From: r_delaney2001@yahoo.com              I attended a seminar on computational imaging last week.       It was mostly over my head, as usual.              The speaker discussed a research project. They work       on the problem of maintaining focus, or de-blurring,       an object as it moves along the z-axis, that is, in       and out of the focal plane.              The key element is a customized phase filter, inserted       in front of the objective lens. Apparently a major       design challenge, as it can't be solved analytically,       and even numerically, very difficult.              All very interesting, except it leaves me wondering:       can anybody here expound on this phase filter       thigamabob, what's the magic sauce?                     --       Rich              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
