   I saw an announcement somewhere, about a   
   AI doohickey which solves lens design problems   
   that stump the experts.   
      
   Lens design is a mature science, so this is surprising.   
   Anybody here wish to comment/speculate on the   
   nature of these problems, or the contexts?  NP problems,   
   something like that?
