|    Noodle heads and bean counters    |

From: heathjohn2@gmail.com              It has been my observation that in physics there seems to be       two types, a noodle head and a bean counter. A noodle       head wants to understand why and a bean counter wants to       model to extract meaning from mathematics. Faraday would be       a classic noodle head staring at a compass changing its       position when current passes through a wire. He will stare       and sleep on it for months until some meaning can be       extracted. Maxwell would be a bean counter looking for       meaning in the beauty of mathematics. When a noodle head       crosses path with a bean counter good things seem to happen       such is this case of a Faraday and a Maxwell where the magic       of a magnetic force and Coulomb's force unites under Maxwell's       equations as being related and predicts the speed of light       for the first time using classic wave theory.              Einstein would be a noodle head / bean counter rolled up in one and we       all know the great accomplishments that came from this. In Einstein case       history paints a duality to his life . I call it the Einstein / Bessel       noodle head team VS the Einstein bean counter side. It stars around 1905       , the miracle year , with the great 5 papers. 1907 the duality starts       where the E / B noodle head team is in the lab looking for the       longitudinal inertia of an electron m = sqr (1-v^2/c^2))^3. Note ^3.       This is a logical next step to the electrodynamics of moving bodies. But       the bean counter side is compromised to using the Minkowski length       contraction where time is a fourth dimension for special relativity.       This is the start of the Einstein duality where what he says in main       stream physics and what he does in a lab are not the same , noodle head       VS bean counter. In 1915 the noodle head electron inertia experiment was       completed with the Einsteinâ=80_de Haas effect paper. It was not publish       sighting mistakes. How can empirical evidence have mistakes ? It is an       experiment that is repeatable. And how could anyone in 1915 not publish       an Einstein paper. In 1902 you could understand but in 1915 ? Well the       archives of libraries have preserved the Einstein Hass paper and the       original electrodynamics of moving bodies that preserves the noodle head       side of Einstein.              There is a noodle head / bean counter duality in a Professor       Yoshio Koide from Japan. He is noted for the famous Koide formula       to set the lepton masses in the standard model. With his retirement       the noodle head side is starting to come out. He is suggesting a       boson / lepton mix could be a more productive. A boson / lepton mix       is a bold move. In short forget the quarks , just punch your way       through the leptons with a boson mix. It is understandable that he       would keep that one under his hat until retirement. We are talking       photon with an electron in a confined state. I call it the photon       with an attitude as it can not move away at c with a rest mass of       1 electron slowing it down. At best all it can do is wiggle and       jiggle around which is not far off what a muon and tau do in real       life. I tried this approach and to my surprise a pion and kaon mass       fell in my lap armed only with the Koide formula and seed numbers       of electron .511 MeV and muon 105.66 . I could be the first person       to do this although I suspect professor Koide already knew this       would happen.              In summary why is there a need for noodle heads to hide in the grass       and live a dual life in physics?              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
