On It all boils down to three       > conditions: no motion, constant motion, or accelerated motion. So, it       > seems, there are only three forms of motion that can occur in a single       > spatial dimension."       >       > Thanks for your input.              I was rethinking this topic and had to confront this concept       of second order acceleration. The "jerk" effect is this       kinetic.              The modern athlete needs resolving given jerk theory. The       body movements in modern basketball are likely the most dominate       example of jerk. So I would propose to formalize this kinetic       and give the name to it. Having "game" is to be formalized.              Maybe this is obvious, might be my problem, but I needed to       philosophically express it.              Observing the horse accelerate might not show game. But       humans can be taught to express a certain behavior right off       a sprinter's starting blocks. What function of acceleration       might match the runner's legs given an efficiency variable?       The runners gait is exploding from zero to full length.              There is a choice. What is the initial state? What is the       first step gait wise? Start small? Start larger? Start like       the winners? Here the answer is to follow the winners, but       what if the scenario was uncommon?              Having game here would be like starting to run standing up.       And having the winner move to a crouch to alter the second       acceleration.              This concept can be used in general to look for kinetic       opportunity. Examining aircraft control and performance       in scenario would be one example.              The most heartbreaking failure in my life was the final       discovery of microbursts' effect on landing aircraft.       The second kinetic was not used to analyze the crashes.       It took correlation of rain shafts to determine air       downshaft existence.              [[Mod. note -- There's a nice introduction to jerk in        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerk_(physics)       -- jt]]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
