What is your problem?       >       > Rich L              Thanks,              I`m helping some colleagues setting a Mossbauer spectrometer. From the signal       side we have:       proportional detector --> pre amp (+ HV PS) --> amp --> MCA       I`m not sure if both the pre amp and the amp are working properly and       would like to test, but I don`t have access to a NIM pulser (like the       ortec 480). AI also can't test the chain with the detector...       My question are:       1) Can I use a "normal" sinusoidal or square generator to test the       chain? I don't thing so but...       2) I could build a simple pulser using a relay (just search on line for       the 480 schematic), but I don have access to a mercury relay. Is this       going to work with a normal relay?              Tanks JM              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
