|    Giant monopoles as dark matter?    |

From: helbig@asclothestro.multivax.de              In the category "very interesting if true" belongs the idea of giant       (i.e., the mass of a small galaxy) monopoles as dark matter, for example       in arXiv:1202.0560. What do people who know something about the physics       on which this is based think of this idea? Interesting? Speculative?       Crackpot?              [[Mod. note -- It's certainly speculative. Interestingly, the authors       themselves don't seem to fully endorse this scenario: they write that SDSS       data "hopefully will soon lead to a falsification of the entire model".       -- jt]]              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
