   Don't know if you were around pre-2002ish, but aside from brad   
   and Curio, the group thrived. There were probably 25 or so   
   regulars, and most of them academics or psychlogists. It was the   
   stalking that drove everyone away.   
      
   Usenet has suffered intellectual decline over the past several   
   years. spp is just another example of how a group can be ruined   
   when kooks outnumber regulars, hijacking threads and stalking   
   people. You recently saw the REBT therapist post here, offering   
   his credentials and business address. This is something that is   
   routinely done in professional fora - for good reason - but as   
   you know, can be dangerous on Usenet. I suppose I should sit   
   down and put some ideas together for a FAQ. Maybe you and Peter   
   can take a whack at it, too. I think a good FAQ, and more time   
   for the kooks to clear out, and there's a small chance it might   
   come back to life. Slowly.
