Yeah, it's called the "China Syndrome". (Ch'in=Qin)

No. What could possibly be more perverse than upwards of 1.3 billion
people, all belonging to the same 'cultural' identity which has
endured for over 2,000 years. Those who sometimes ...

"... "break away" for a little respite of independent thinking ..."

... such as the "Taiwanese" for example, are convinced to return to
the fold or are eventually "put down".

I apologize for supporting Gore but her commie pinko, "Jock McBile"
style, trade unionist *shtik* is stunningly tedious for me. The mere
thought of her raving onwards and outwards about the 'Great Wall of
China' with their shyster (a.k.a. non-hereditary aristocratic)
Mandarin bureaucracy might make for a refreshing change. (See
   'legalism' below ...) YMMV.
   ================================================
Heh, I was thinking in much smaller terms, a mere microcosm of what you
brought up. I was thinking of small groups of people in this case, Jan,
Linda, et al and others in various ng's who band together in similar
harmonious relationships that stray afar from societies norms yet
think/believe they are the "called ones". :)

Interesting byline you brought up, the "bigger picture" reflecting to
smaller, like Jan's desire to control the ng's and everyone's thoughts,
that her reality is "THE" true reality. Senility sucks, especially when
   posted.

No need to apologize to posting to anyone, we are all free to follow the
flow of thought wherever it may lead. Some serious, some fun, some
mocking and so forth. Keeping all the facets polished on the same stone,
   so to speak.
