   Paranoia is characterized by excessive mistrust and suspicion of others,   
   often to the point of irrationality. It involves feeling threatened or   
   persecuted without a valid basis. While it can be a symptom of various   
   mental health conditions, paranoia itself is not a standalone diagnosis.

   Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects a person's ability   
   to think, feel, and behave clearly. It's characterized by psychotic   
   symptoms, cognitive impairments, and negative symptoms, which can   
   significantly impact daily life. While there's no cure, various treatments   
   can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
