   There is no one specific verse.

   Gen 8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle
   that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and
   the waters asswaged;

   Gen 8:2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were
   stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

   Gen 8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the
   end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

   Gen 8:4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of
   the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

   Gen 8:5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the
   tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains
   seen.

   Gen 8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the
   window of the ark which he had made:

   Gen 8:7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the
   waters were dried up from off the earth.

   Gen 8:8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated
   from off the face of the ground;

   Gen 8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned
   unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth:
   then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the
   ark.

   Gen 8:10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove
   out of the ark;

   Gen 8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth
   was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from
   off the earth.

   While this does not give the full story of the beginning to the end of the
   flood, it does answer the question you asked specifically what happened to
   the water. To put it in the simplest of terms. It returned to where it came
   from.

   To address the questions of continents, what makes you think that there were
   different continents at that time? During the time of man there were major
   and disastrous calamities upon this earth, as the earth in the Bible has
   split and divided several times over the history of man. And I am not
   speaking of historic earthquakes such as happened in the near past in Africa,
   where mountains collapse and valleys rose, so much so that the natives of
   that reason thought they had been transported somehow to another place.

   Just look at the history of Geology as well as all the lands now mapped out
   showing the effects of land shifts that cross this nation of America, alone.
   What has happened in N. Calif, the Yellowstone area, as well as major parts
   of Arizona. The “ring of fire†and all the shifting going on under
   the seas. The lost continent of Atlantis.

   There is so much info to compiles that has yet been gathered up together so
   and to properly fit the pieces of the puzzle together.

   But just like the discover of oil in the Middle East was found because of a
   geologist remembering what the Bible spoke of as pitch, and using that data
   as well as his understanding of oil, etc. he put t all together and the oil
   boom took off making some nations extremely wealthy. Yet those Kings never
   said a proper Thank you to him.
