   No, according to the Bible it was not particularly   
   the Romans, but the religious authorities of that   
   time.   
      
   After they arrested Jesus they brought Him to the   
   Roman governor of Judaea, Pontius Pilate. They   
   even had to wake him up.   
      
   So it wasn't the Romans, but the Jewish leaders   
   who officially rejected Him, and demanded for   
   Him to be crucified.
