   There hasn't been so much as one single "Super Volcanic Eruption"   
   in the entirety of the Holocene, yet there's been volcanoes big   
   enough to kill off summer for a couple years. Smaller ones (but   
   still large) are associated with all the "Super Droughts" on   
   record. No, not because of heat but because VOLCANIC ACTIVITY   
   COOLS the air loses it's moisture when & where it wouldn't   
   ordinarily lose it, resulting in no rain elsewhere that would   
   normally get rain...   
      
   A "Super Volcano" is off the charts, beyond anything that humans   
   have recorded. Yellowstone is active right now, holding back   
   approximately as much energy as 100,000 nuclear weapons and there's   
   active hot spots that are larger... twice as large or more. The   
   volcanic activity that touched off your extinction event would have
