   You didn't answer my question, and so, let me ask it again!  (By the   
   way, you are correct about Mercury's atmosphere, but, for all practical   
   purposes, it doesn't have one.)  Here is my question again:   
      
   If Venus' atmosphere was 100% CO2 and nothing else, what would its   
   temperature be at its surface?  Now, if you are prepared to say that it   
   would be anything above that of Mercury's nighttime temperatures, then   
   CO2 is a greenhouse gas.  Period.  Now, if you want to say that any and   
   every gas is a greenhouse gas, then that's fine, but Samuel described   
   the experiment that you yourself can perform.
