Now, what does that mean?!              Why don't you start by attempting to establish as fact that your       imaginary warming would be bad.              The Ukraine is "The bread basket of Europe" but it is significantly       colder than was ancient Egypt. Ancient Egypt would get two, sometimes       three crops in a single year. They'd plant, harvest and then plant       again. And if it was a good year they'd harvest that second crop and       plant a third crop.... with a third harvest to follow.              That doesn't sound bad at all.              A warmer climate is a wetter climate. No, deserts aren't dry because       they are hot. They're hot because they are try. Weather patterns --       and mountains cause this a lot -- drop their moisture before they       reach the desert. And that's why they become deserts in the first place.              Anyway: Warmer weather, you claim. Higher CO2. Plenty of rain. Wow,       sounds like paradise for our food crops!              Why would that be bad?              I live in the northeast. We have what we call "Snow Birds." There are       people who flee south in the winter, usually Florida, to escape the       cold. Not surprising, our species -- OUR ENTIRE GENUS -- evolved with       the tropics into the sub tropics. They needed a whole lot of things,       the controlled use of fire for example, and some handy evolution of the       mtDNA, before they could survive in the colder regions...              Sorry, *We* needed those things. Us. Because we're a species, a genus       that arose in the tropics and couldn't push further than the sub       tropics without major adaptations... and you want to pretend warmer is       bad?              IT WAS WARMER FOR THE NEANDERTHALS! During the last interglacial, which       ended maybe 130,000 years ago, it was warmer. Sea level was about 16       feet higher. And CO2 was much __Lower__.              Wow. We debunked not only your "Warm is bad" stupidity but also your       CO2 myth!                                                 --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
