|    Does morality exist?    |

XPost: alt.atheism, soc.history.ancient       From: jtem01@gmail.com              So my brain doesn't work like yours -- you may have       noticed -- but I don't think you or most people       (nearly all) have the faintest clue what is or is       not "Moral."              I, for instance, usually try to judge people, their       "Morality," on 1) How consistent they are and 2) how       rational they are.              It's easier to determine, from YOUR perspective, and       when I say "Your" I mean "My" perspective, when       someone is behaving rational, as opposed to consistent.              Judging "Consistency" requires some background, history,       which very often isn't there, particularly for people you       are not acquainted with in YOUR real life.              Okay, so bear with me...              IF someone is inconsistent, it's not morality. They       are NOT following some moral compass. They're just       rationalizing. They're framing their knee jerk as a       moral point, rather than beginning with a moral point       & working out a position from there.              AND, if someone isn't rational? Same thing.              Keep in mind irrational people, unlike inconsistent       people, may actually begin with a sense of morality.              A reasonable person can reasonably find fault in Israel,       in the Arab/Israeli conflict. But that's it. The       morality goes no further.... "I found something I       believe is wrong in your position, so I refuse to so       much as consider anything else, AND I hysterically       demand an unworkable solution out of MALICE towards       the party I decided is tha offender."              It's a pseudo "Morality," the irrational people.              In the case of the Arab/Israeli conflict, for example,       where a reasonable person can find reasonable cause to       declare "Wrong" on the Israeli side, they're okay with       terrorism. They're okay with murder, including the murder       of babies. They're okay with rape -- both of woman and       boys. They're okay with fascism, Hamas being a brutal       fascist government. These are supposedly "Moral" people       acting on their "Moral" compass, yet they embrace all       manner of evil. And their solution? Total, unconditional       victory for the terrorists!              NO concern for what happens to any of the people, NO       thought invested on what happens next... all as absent       as the disdain for terrorism, kidnapping, rape, torture       and fascism.              So, yes, I honestly do search for OBJECTIVE measures in       attempting to evaluate "Morality."              Btw, if you were wondering; LeftTards flunk this test.              The anti ICE hysteria flunks this morality test.              Just ask Charlie Kirk!                                                                      --       https://jtem.tumblr.com/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
