   NASA has already lost this race. There's no way NASA will be able to   
   get its act together on time to return samples before the Chinese do.   
      
   The MSR architecture is too complex and convoluted to work and   
   it costs a ton of money. Yet NASA refuses to pare down the architecture   
   to something that's more like the Chinese one.
