   Tonight, for the first time, I saw images of the fires that are devastating   
   the province that I live in. The southern half of B.C., Canada has 850   
   forest fires currently burning, three of the largest surround Kamloops,   
   where I live, and the worst is burning Kelowna, 200 km south of me. The   
   images were incredible! I could actually see the fires and the areas   
   surrounding them.   
   The topographical information will be extemely helpful to the forest fire   
   management teams now and in the future. Plotting of terrain, deployment of   
   resources, types of fuel ( vegetation),and spread patterns of the fires, are   
   all much needed information in fighting forest fires.
