   I'm trying my hand at making some 3D models of classic space habitat   
   designs.  My first effort can be seen here:

   This is based on a NASA painting from the '70s (linked from the page   
   above).  But one thing puzzles me about the original painting: where are   
   the radiators?  Would a habitat of this size need to have substantial   
   radiators to get rid of excess heat?   
      
   (I'm assuming those purple things spread between the spokes within the   
   mirror ring are solar panels.)
