According to a NASA briefing I watched, impact velocity is supposed to
be on the order of 4 meters per second. They're pretty confident that
low a speed won't damage the probe. They say it can float too, so if
it lands in a hydrocarbon ocean instead of on what passes for dry land,
it should still be ok. The batteries will run down about 2 hours after
landing, though, so it won't be able to communicate for long after
   touchdown.
