|    Cassini: Titan orbit insertion?    |
|    10 Dec 04 10:44:42    |
From: matti@deletethis-antti.la.retro.com              Does Cassini have enough propellant that it would be possible       to perform Titan orbit insertion (TOI)? If so, and if Cassini would       be placed on an orbit of Titan, what would be the scientific       benefits/drawbacks of the mission? It's clear that Cassini would       loose all the near-encounters of the other moons, but the Titan       would be near all the time, and surely Cassini would be able to       look Saturn half the time. Assuming that the TOI would be possible,       either by direct capture or by some clever orbital manoeuvres..              Matti Anttila              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
