   Not terribly dangerous for the 21 Apollo astronauts who passed through   
   them twice at ~25,000 mph (on trajectories that skimmed the edges of   
   the most intense inner belt). Very dangerous if you spend more than a   
   few hours within the belts and don't have many inches of shielding.
