From: sebastian.m.strauch@gmx.de              Hi,       in biological experiments clinostats are used to generate "simulated       microgravity" or "functional weightlessness". Rotating a sample in one or       two axes makes the gravity vector coming from everywhere, so some kind of       weightlessness is simulated (in a small space at the very center of the       sample). A famous device works in Zurich. Google for "Cogoli" (I think       Augusto Cogoli) and "clinostat" and "DLR". There you'll find some       information about these devices. I got also one at the university, but       there's no information available in the net today.       Bye       Sebastian                            "EDWARD.W" |
