   Good hint will be provided, if you measure time curve,   
   how fast reach the measured temperature the steady value   
   in constant temperature bath. But it relies on similar values   
   for thermometer and for the test tube themselves.   
      
   AFAIK, typical values used for heating were   
   about 0,5-1 deg C / min.
