   Agreed, though you can get (expensive!) gas-tight ones. I recently saw a   
   HDPE bottle full of acetone for sale ...

   Don't think manipulation would be a worry - a little CO2 won't hurt,   
   though a lot would be a problem. Supposed to be 5% KOH, let's say 0.5%   
   K2CO3 maximum.   
      
   I don't _think_ a single-layer PP/PE bottle would work, though I don't   
   actually know.
