   What I would suggest is   
   to make a test to compare fresh solution   
   and old solution after some time of storage   
   and then decide for how long you would store it.   
      
   I also think making KOH solution is easy   
   and I would personally probably make needed volume   
   to be spent one-time, or in short term.
