I am a researcher at university in Europe (though not a biochemist) and from
my point of view: it all depends on number of samples. University will gladly
sign a commercial contract to analyze samples, people at my institution do it
all the time; however, we would not bother with only a few samples - where I
work the official policy is we cannot take such jobs for less than ca. 1000$.
If you have very small number of samples, try to find a scientist who works
with the kind of substances you are, often they can run you samples along
with their regular analyses for free if the topic is interesting (this also
happens at my institution, but I don’t think it is allowed in strictly
   commercial laboratories).
