   during the day S America is closer to the sun than Australia.   
      
   Yes, perihelion has happened once every year for the last 4   
   billion years.   
      
   But it's expected to slowly change over the next 10,000 years   
   and move to June.   
      
   Of course it's unlikely under BAU that any person will be alive   
   to see it.
