   Wow. Snow in winter at 2000m. You just has to ast youself where   
   the hell is all the evaporation coming from to make all that moisture.

   Because of this, much of Alaska can have very snowy winters AND warmer   
   (or much warmer) than normal winters. This works for areas where normal   
   temps are far below freezing. Once normal temps near the freezing line,   
   snow drops way off.

   Because winter is still cold when it's 2C above normal. In fact, you   
   tend to end up with more snow when it's warmer (but still cold enough
