   U Col/NASA Realtime have updated their sat estimate of polar sea-ice.   
      
   Amid a raging heatwave over the whole region extent in the Arctic is   
   fallen to 7.28 mn km2 -- 310,000 km2 lower than the same month last y   
   and a new record for the sat era.   
      
   In the Antarctic seaice is a smaller 15.65 mn km2 which ranks only 9th   
   lowest for the region.   
      
   Total seaice extent was 22.93 mn km2 which is the 2nd-lowest in the series.
