   The JMA has updated their global temp data series to end of Oct 2020.   
   They find the global surf temp averaged around .66C above the mid 20th   
   cent (NASA baseline) tying with 2014 as the warmest Oct since 1891.

   The monthly anomaly of the global average surface temperature in   
   Oct 2020 (i.e. the average of the near-surface air temperature over   
   land and the SST) was +0.34°C above the 1981-2010 average (+0.66°C   
   above the 20th century average), and was the 4th warmest since 1891. On   
   a longer time scale, global average surface temperatures have risen at   
   a rate of about 0.68°C per century.
