   XPost: alt.global-warming

NASA has just updated its sat-based seaice estimate to the end of
   2020.

The 12m average seaice for the Arctic has come in with an extent of
   10.175 mn km2 -- a new record, by just 1000 km2.

   Seaice in the S Hem averaged 11.511 mn km2 -- 800,000 km2 greater than
record-holder 2017 and ranking 20th in the 43-year sat era. Aka near
   "median".

The average for total polar seaice extent for the year was 21.686 mn
   km2 -- 5th-smallest since modern records began.
