   With HadCRUT reporting we can review 2020 across the major data   
   series.   
      
   Opinion is divided. Kinda. 2020 was either the warmest or 2nd warmest   
   year over the industrial period since ~1850. 6 series say #1 and 6   
   series say #2. It's that allays the way -- scientix cain nebba decide   
   nuthin an evvythin is allays borderline like my personality!   
      
   The summary table is below. Most series are temperature anomalies with   
   respect to some 30y baseline period. Most baselines amount to "1980s   
   averages". NASA uses the mid 20th cent.   
      
   The ice extent series are in mns km2 and volume in 1000s km3 and both   
   rank lowest #1. Other series rank #1 warmest or highest.   
      
   Most series are temps at surface level. The UAH LT estimates atm temps   
   about 3-10 km up. Remote Sensing Systems LT tries to focus on the atm   
   2-10 km above sea-level. (There has been a problem with RSS and its   
   server stopped working around August).
